Every year I grow older, Halloween costume ideas get harder and harder. I don’t know why and I think it’s mainly from lack of planning, but most years I typically just throw something together day of. This year, I am already in the Halloween spirit and want to be prepared with a more original costume ready to go! What are you guys dressing up as?
As you know from my previous Halloween Decorations post, I love decking my house out for Halloween. I typically focus on the house being decorated and not on the costume prep. Not this year! In trying to spark a creative Halloween costume idea, I took to my most favorite search engine, Pinterest. It’s my favorite for all things creative and sure enough after browsing for only 15 minutes, I am already pumped for Halloween! Below are 5 things to help put you in the Halloween spirit.

Each story proves that spooky Folklore has an undeniable influence in the things that we fear. This amazing DIY Floral skull tutorial from Honestly Yum. I always get flowers when I am at Trader Joe’s because they are pretty reasonably priced. I love the idea of putting them in a skull for a mantle or table centerpiece. Be sure to add lots of dark flowers and twigs for texture. It would also be fun to spray paint the skull silver or gold to have a metallic vibe going on!
